Free Income Tax Preparation Services in Macon County
February 10, 2015 - April 15, 2015
Beginning this week, free income tax preparation services will be provided to people and families making less than $52,000. The service is provided by Tuskegee Macon County Community Development Corporation and Tuskegee University Cooperative Extension Program.
Site Location: Tuskegee - Macon County CDC, 608 Dibble St., Tuskegee, AL
Site Hour: Monday - Friday, 8 -5p.m. (By Appointment Only)
What to bring to your appointment:
- Proof of Identification (Photo ID)
- Social Security cards for you, your spouse and dependents
- An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) assignment letter may be substituted for you, your spouse, and your dependents if you do not have a Social Security number
- Proof of foreign status, if applying for an ITIN
- Birth dates for you, your spouse and dependents on the tax return
- Wage and earning statements (Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, 1099-Misc) from all employers
- Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099)
- All Forms 1095, Health Insurance Statements
- Health Insurance Exemption Certificate, if received
- A copy of last year's federal and state returns, if available
- Proof of bank account routing and account numbers for direct deposit such as a blank check
- To file taxes electronically on a married- filing- joint tax return both spouses must be present to sign the required forms
- Total paid for daycare provider and the daycare provider's tax identifying number such as their Social Security number or business Employer Identification Number
- Forms 1095-A, B, or C, Affordable Health Care Statements
- Copies of income transcripts from IRS and state, if applicable

This course introduces persons to solar powered electricity (photovoltaics how light creates electricity). Upon completion of training students are eligible to take the Entry Level Exam (NABCEP) which certifies their understanding of the entry level learning objectives. This course is required in order to become a NABCEP Certified Installer after the proper credentials are obtained through additional field experience and advanced training.

Hey Tuskegee and Macon County residents!!!! The TuskMac CDC and the Tuskegee Area Chamber of Commerce are hosting an Empowerment Seminar on "How to Use Social Media for your Business or Organization". The Seminar will be Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 9:30am at 608 Dibble Street in Tuskegee. This is a FREE seminar and anyone interested in attending is encouraged to register today. On June 14, 2013 the Tuskegee Housing Authority (THA), in partnership with the TMCDC held our Annual Fatherhood Event 2013 at the THA Life Development Center.
On June 20th TMCDC had a Workshop from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
CRA Training for community-based organizations (CBOs) improves their ability to partner with depository institutions. These sessions provide training to organizations interested in learning more about the CRA and how it can help them serve their mission. Ultimately, the sessions help community-based organizations work more effectively and constructively with banks to improve neighborhoods and communities. Bankers may participate but the primary target audience of the workshop is community organizations.

Please, keep in mind you will need a plan to obtain financing because this ensures investors that the entrepreneur has a well-thought out strategy to implement and successfully operate the business.
